Dumping your RV toilet can be intimidating and scary at first. But once you do it several times, that feeling goes away.
How To Dump And Clean Your RV Toilet
When to dump
When to dump: When to dump your RV toilet can be an individual thing or a standard thing. Some people wait till it is almost full. And others wait to dump til it is 1/2 full.
Tank Monitors & Indicator Lights
Tank monitors & indicator lights
Tank monitors and indicator lights:These are the switches inside your rig that are supposed to let you know when your toilet needs to be dumped. They are located on a control panel. It will show you how full it is.
How reliable are these switches:
How reliable are these switches; Well, in my experience or maybe in my circumstance it has not been very reliable at all. But others that I know who have rigs have had no problem with these switches.
Alternative to dumping toilet indicator:
Alternative to dumping toilet indicator: Well I have had 3 rigs and I have found a weird way but it really does work to know if the toilet needs dumping.
The Bubble Method
The bubble method: The bubble method as I call it may not be in any RV manuals. But let me tell you one thing “It works for me”.
The only way to explain it is when I go to flush the toilet, if I hear a bubble sound and also see one rise up in that toilet. Yes, Ma’am I’m gonna dump that sucker.
How Often To Dump
How Often To Dump:
How often to dump: How often to dump several things. If you have a lot of people that use your rig on regular basis ( more than two). Then maybe it would be to your advantage to dump twice a week.
Also if you have a lot of children in your rig that like to over do it on the TP you might want to monitor that as well.
If it’s only you or your partner then at least once a week would be good.
Should You Dump Before Storing
Should You Dump Before Storing:
Should you dump before storing: Should you dump before you store your rig, Yes.
It is a must before you store your rig to dump it all. If you don’t you will have problems when you go to use it next time. These problems would be in the forms of clogged pipes, in the form of dried poop that has hardened in the tank.
This very hard to get out later. And you will also be left with your rig smelling like a sewerage facility.
I hope that this post has helped you on your way to easy dumping.
